Introduction

Ensuring Optimal Cleanliness for Industrial Components

Ensuring the cleanliness of parts is crucial for industrial manufacturing processes. It affects the compliance, performance, and lifespan of parts, assemblies, and end-products. Parts Cleanliness analysis is an integral process of any quality assurance procedures for precision manufactured parts.

Key Cleanliness Tests

State-of-the-Art Cleanliness Testing and Analysis

Gravimetric Contamination test
The Millipore test is one of the most used quantitative methods of contamination determination for industrial manufactured parts. Millipore testing is a great tool for analysing the cleanliness by extracting the contamination from part surface and measuring the quantity in terms of mass.
In addition to the above Millipore test, there are different methods of cleanliness analysis, one such test is particle analysis. Here the extracted contamination mass on filter paper by gravimetric process is further analysed by measuring metallic, non-metallic and fibre particles in size range and numbers.
The surface tension value is determined by dyne-ink test applied on the surface to be evaluated. This test is used for parts undergoing a degreasing process.
